The art of cleansing

To cleanse ourselves is to release unwanted tension or energy built up inside the body and allow it to flow out or wash away to make room for new energy to come in. This allows new creativity to flow and new ideas to grow.

If you are feeling blocked in some way, whether it be physically, emotionally or spiritually, it might be a good idea to cleanse yourself. Sometimes your body might do this naturally, for example when you feel a sense of sadness or frustration that you’ve held on to for some time and you cry which can often feel quite nice afterwards. This release of energy allows room for new energy to come in. Another way could be to swim in the ocean, to sing or to dance, to exercise or practice yoga or meditation when you’ve set intentions for your practices.

Another method of cleansing is to first set your intentions for cleansing yourself, then breath in your favourite essential oils or Serene perfume oils and as you breath out, allow yourself to let out a sigh however loud you choose. You may also like to repeat an affirmation while you breath in and out, such as I breath in new energy and I let out old energy, or I breath in and I let go. You can do this as many times as you feel you need to, allow yourself to fully surrender to the moment and enjoy the benefits this simple ritual brings.
